Mottisfont is a romantic house and gallery set in stunning riverside gardens near Romsey, Hampshire. The beauty of these gardens is truly inspiring and a sight to behold.
The walled garden at Mottisfont is a true treasure, home to the exclusive National Collection of Pre-1900 Shrub Roses. These ‘old-fashioned’ roses bloom just once a year in early summer, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
Four members enjoyed the beautiful evening light, which enhanced the spectacular display (and scent) of the Rose Garden.
On this particular evening, the number of visitors was much less than expected, providing more opportunities for stunning photographs. The tall spires of the white Foxgloves were a striking sight, leading the eye up to the early flowering white Ramblers and, of course, what’s a memorable evening without a chat over a coffee (and Ice Cream, no less!).
We’re very grateful to Mike and Maggie for organizing such a lovely event.
