A walk around Old Portsmouth – an evening Out & About, on Thursday 20th June

Old Portsmouth, the original town at the harbour entrance, is a treasure trove of history. Founded in the 1180s, it was a place where the city’s spices used to enter, hence the name Spice Island. The area is dotted with historical buildings and features, including the well-preserved old defences and the Camber docks. It is home to Portsmouth’s small fishing fleet and fish market.

Our group of six had a great time on this delightful evening. Despite the sunny weather, which wasn’t ideal for atmospheric photography, we captured some excellent shots.

Our evening in Old Portsmouth concluded at the Spice Island Pub. The warm and inviting atmosphere and engaging conversations made it the ideal spot to wrap up our photo walk around this historic area.
