Twyford Waterworks hold open days throughout the year but they also have special events several times a year where they have outside exhibitions and displays. (The next one on the 5th June 2016)
Five members visited on the 1st May and had an enjoyable morning. There are the usual indoor displays of the working machinery that are quite interesting for some of us but not for others!! Taking photos inside without a tripod was a problem due to the low lighting levels.
Externally there was a very good display of vintage cars, tractors, and steam engines. These were all in immaculate condition and made some good images for photographing.
For the children, there was a range of small steam engines to ride on and again there were good photo opportunities.
There is a small woodland walk ending up at a large pond with a bird viewing hide. Obviously, no use when busy but worth a visit if you are into bird photography.
The actual buildings are Edwardian with some impressive chimneys and some good photos were taken.
