On Sunday three hardy members visited Brooklands Museum and whilst we were prepared for the forecast of heavy rain we were not prepared for snow! That was soon forgotten when we experienced a half hour Concorde “flight” giving us a wonderful opportunity to see and photograph a great British icon in detail. We were surprised to learn that the tail section of the Concordes were manufactured at Brooklands, just one of the surprising facts we learned about this historic place.
In the afternoon with the temperature up to a balmy 5 degrees and the snow turning to rain we moved between the buildings and London Bus Museum to photograph the extensive motoring and aviation exhibits.. With the weather providing poor natural light and a lot of reflections from the artificial lighting, photography was challenging but with so much to photograph and enjoy in the original buildings and new Lottery funded hangar. We all agreed it had been a fascinating day.
