Ten members went along to the Heavy Horse ploughing contest on Sunday 22nd Oct. After Storm Brian, we all knew it was going to be a muddy event but we were all prepared in our boots and wellies- the showground was a tad behind in opening the car parks though as the large horse boxes were finding it difficult to get across the fields! Apart from this though there was some lovely early morning sunshine and everyone immediately headed for the ploughing area where the beautiful Shires, Suffolk Punch and Percherons were all attempting to win their class.
You will see from the images below there were lots of details to be photographed as well as the the motorized ploughing – with gentlemen admiring others’ pride and joy in the tractor section! Thank you to everyone for coming along it was a lovely morning. Dawn
