After all the beautiful summer evenings of the past weeks, we were threatened with rain for our latest Out and About to Hengistbury Head and with grey skies all day, it did not look at all promising. Eight foolhardy members decided to risk it and were rewarded with a dry if somewhat overcast evening. At one point we did have blue skies and even a weak rainbow, but the hoped for sunset did not materialise. The recent rain and soft light however, seemed to bring out some lovely subtle colours. The constant threat of rain also kept others away and we experienced an almost deserted Hengistbury. It was a pleasant evening even if the photograph was challenging. Mary
