“At the Out and about on Spice Island in Old Portsmouth, Gareth, John, Steve Townsend, Mike and Maggie, Betty and Jerry, and Helen Davis and Dave Fletcher visited three locations. The Point overlooking the harbour, Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower; the fishing port; and the battlements and Round Tower overlooking the Harbour entrance provided a wide range of nighttime photographic subjects.
At one point our large group of photographers aroused the suspicions of a fishing boat captain from Oban who was concerned that we were fishery inspectors. But when he found out what we were up to he changed his approach and asked for copies of any good photos of his boat.
We had a very good couple of hours of photography and were fortunate that the rain stayed away until we were safely ensconced in the pub eating our dinner.”
