On the 2nd April, 12 members went on a trip to London. We were lucky with the weather and had a beautiful warm sunny day and the rain did not set in until around 5pm.
On arrival we all went to the Young Vic Theatre in The Cut, just a few minutes from Waterloo and had a coffee and took a few interesting images around the theatre. After that the group split into two sections, 5 members went to Covent Garden and the remaining group went to Camden.
At Covent Garden Anita, Anne, Ali, Dawn and Peter found some space to sit, have lunch and basically ‘people-watch’! After about an hour or so, and with several characters captured on file, the group headed back to the river for a meander towards Waterloo. A short while was spent capturing the youngsters in the skateboard area before it was time for more refreshments. At this point Dawn realised that she had left her Tripod in Covent Garden. Peter offered to head back there as he was meeting up with the others in that direction. Unfortunately and as predicted, the Tripod had disappeared – thank you Peter for trying!
At Camden although it was busy, there was a lot to look at, some very interesting shops and people, however, trying to take images of people who didn’t want their photo taken, proved a little tricky! We then walked along the canal, found a tea shop for a drink and lunchtime snack, and after that walked along the canal right through to St Johns Wood where we caught the tube back to Westminster and walked along the Southbank taking further images prior to 8 of the group meeting for an early evening meal. Sadly the rain then set in so we called it a day and returned home.
It was an extremely enjoyable day. Looking forward to seeing some images on Flickr or on the BWPS club forum. Thank you to everyone for your company. Liz
